Simi Valley City Council
Meet at the planter outside the doors to City Hall at 6 PM
City Council: 2929 Tapo Canyon Road, Simi Valley, CA 93063

The Simi Valley Public Library is in trouble. On December 12th , the Simi Valley City Council will have their final chance to vote to opt out of the Ventura County library system in order to privatize the library services with the Maryland-based corporation, Library Systems and Services, LLC (LSSI). This vote comes as direct action against the passage of California Assembly Bill 438, which comes into effect January 1st. AB 438 was passed to stop the privatization of library services to private companies without first determining whether it would be beneficial to the community and save taxpayer money. Under private control, the library will be run as a for-profit enterprise, which means cutting costs and services or charging fees to maximize profits.
We urge you to show your support for Simi Valley Public Library by coming to make your voice heard at Simi Valley City Hall on December 12th.
