Veggie Snack Pot Luck at 7:15 PM
Movie at 7:30 PM
If you can, please bring a non-alcoholic beverage or vegetarian potluck snacks to share.

A new documentary created by Sabine El Gemayel, Generation Zapped, reveals the high cost of our addiction to digital devices and the health risks, especially for children and teens, from exposure to wireless radiation. “These effects can happen with even very small levels of exposure if they occur on a daily basis. Cell phone use is likely to be more harmful in children whose brain and nervous system development can last into late adolescence. The public health implications of billions of people who are exposed makes this a matter of critical concern to policy-makers around the world.” (1) This is only going to get worse as the new 5G (fifth generation) higher powered wireless technology is spread throughout the neighborhoods of America.

After the film we will have a discussion and present actions that you can take to reduce your risk as well as what you can do about upcoming roll out of 5G.

The event is ADA compliant with plenty of easy parking, elevator access and headphones for those who need a little extra volume.  The movie will be in the meeting room, across the patio from the elevator and the top of the stairs.

A $10 donation is requested, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

(1) Cindy Sage of Sage Associates and co-editor of the seminal BioInitiative Report: a rationale for a biologically-based public exposure standard for electromagnetic fields. Sage is featured in Generation Zapped.

A Special TPA Film Night, with actions to shut down Diablo Canyon, the last operating nuclear power plant in California.
http://topangapeacealliance.org/film-night/no-nukes-tpa-film-night-20

Friday March 6th at the Topanga Library.
Snack Pot Luck at 7:15, Presentation 7:30.
For those of you who attended the January film night, we are happy to report that the heating has been fixed and we had a very comfortable February film night last month.

Our extraordinary March film night will include multiple short documentary videos and presentations highlighting the dangers of nuclear power plants and especially the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant near San Luis Obispo, CA.  We will see and hear nationally recognized experts including Naomi Klein, Harvey Wasserman, and Dan Hirsch (amongst others) explain how unsafe these plants are, and specifically the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant, operated by Pacific Gas and Electric.  Myla Reson will be our presenter and facilitate the discussions.  Myla has worked for Citizens for Alternatives to Radioactive Dumping (CARD), and Concerned Citizens for Nuclear Safety (CCNS).  She worked with others to successfully shut down Edison’s San Onofre nuclear power plant and is now working with a coalition of activists and organizations to shut down Diablo Canyon power plant.

If you are “on the fence” about nuclear power, we especially want to invite you to join the discussion as well as hear world renowned scientists describe the dangers and poor safety records of these plants.

There will be flyers passed out that include multiple easy actions you can take to help make our world safer.  We have a real opportunity to shut down Diablo Canyon if we act now.  Let’s do it!

The Topanga Peace Alliance will host this event on Friday, March 6, at the Topanga Library, 122 North Topanga Canyon Blvd., 90290.

We will have a vegetarian snack potluck (no alcohol) at 7:15 p.m. with the film screening at 7:30 p.m.  If you can, please bring a non-alcoholic beverage, cheese, dip, fruit or crackers to share.  A $10 donation is requested, but no one is turned away for lack of funds.

*The event is ADA compliant with elevator access and headphones for those who need a little extra volume.

PAY 2 PLAY follows filmmaker John Ennis’ quest to find a way out from under the Pay 2 Play System, where Politicians reward their donors with even larger sums from the public treasury — through contracts, tax cuts, and deregulation. Along the way, he journeys through high drama on the Ohio campaign trail, uncovers the secret history of the game Monopoly, and explores the underworld of L.A. street art on a humorous odyssey that reveals how much of a difference one person can make. PAY 2 PLAY: Democracy’s High Stakes is the layman’s guidebook to taking back our democracy.
