People of all ages and backgrounds are invited to attend a free workshop led by arts organizer David Solnit. It should be a fun event! We will be screen printing, painting flags and banners, and planning a street mural for the Sept 8th CA Rise for Climate march. Refreshments will be provided.
For those who are unsure of how to prepare for a large protest, David Solnit’s “artivism” workshop is a place to learn. David believes that everyone is capable of creating art and that it important for people to use their creativity in support of a greener world. Traveling to cities throughout the state, he is helping communities hit by the effects of climate change tell their stories.
At 7pm The Peace Poets, the foremost grassroots movement song group with roots in the immigrant rights movement, will share and teach their mix of singing, hip hop, and spoken word for positive social change.
Please RSVP for the arts workshop and share with your friends on Facebook!
Email your RSVP to vcclimatehub@gmail.com if you don’t do FACEBOOK. Your RSVP helps us have enough supplies for the art making and chairs for the concert!
If you know people who live in the Santa Barbara area, there will also be a 350 Santa Barbara RISE for Climate Art Build & Peace Poets , Sunday, August 26.
