From FreePress —
Cable giant Charter wants in on the Los Angeles media market — and if its proposed takeover of Time Warner Cable goes through, you’ll be stuck dealing with sky-high prices and another company with way too much control over our Internet connections.

Next week, you can tell the California Public Utilities Commission to vote NO on this disastrous deal.

WHAT: California Public Utility Commission Hearing on proposed Charter-Time Warner Cable Merger

WHEN: Tues., Jan. 26, at 6:00 p.m.

WHERE: CPUC (auditorium), 320 West 4th St., Los Angeles

RSVP: *We’ll give you everything you need ahead of time to speak out.

This meeting has been scheduled so people in Los Angeles can speak directly with the CPUC about the merger. Your voice could really help sway this influential agency.
Could you speak out next Tuesday? RSVP now.

Charter has offered to pay a mind-boggling $90 billion to buy Time Warner Cable and the smaller cable company Bright House Networks. It’ll take on $27 billion in new debt on top of another $39 billion in existing debt — and will have to pay it back by overcharging customers nationwide.

Stop this merger from costing us even more to connect and communicate.
