CFROG is a group of local Ventura County residents working with elected officials, informed citizens and industry leaders to ensure effective oversight of oil and gas operations in Ventura County.
They demand a full environmental review for new and reworked wells and well stimulation regulations that protect our air, water and neighborhoods from industrial blight.
Ventura County is woefully unprepared to manage a proliferation of fracking and other enhanced recovery techniques anticipated to tap into the Monterey/Santos Shale Deposit. Can they get that oil responsibly without causing great environmental damage? It’s time to act.
We hope you will support CFROG in ensuring Ventura County’s water and air are protected. CFROG is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
May 2014: They had an amazing turnout at the hearing in front of the Planning Commission on May 22nd. Dozens of folks packed the room in support of CFROG. In addition, Los Padres Forestwatch, the Sierra Club, the Environmental Defense Center and The Audubon Society all expressed their concern over re-opening the Modelo Canyon oil field in Piru, near the Condor Sanctuary.
